This Steve is in, too. I would like to get together and discuss how we can coordinate. This is exactly why I just moved to Portland, this sense of community and involvement. I'm glad to be a part of it.

Great discussion today! Glad to know about OCI and very excited for what it means for the Oregon creative professionals community. Count me in -- I'd love to be involved.

Everything I heard today confirmed my initial reaction that it will be the creative industries equivalent of Travel Oregon. Which is fantastic. Travel Oregon is have amazing success at establishing Oregon as a destination for beautiful scenery, wonderful food and beverages and more. I think that, rather than try to reinvent the wheel, OCI should copy what makes sense from what Travel Oregon has done and then fill in the blanks where needed for things unique to our needs.

Even the much-maligned state slogan ("Oregon. We Love Dreamers.") is a perfect fit for OCI - perhaps more than for any other industry.

I especially like the stated goal of making Oregon a global center - or hub - for creative industries. Both in terms of attracting talent and in drawing business from around the country and the world to the agencies and freelancers here.

Very excited to help bring this to fruition and build it over coming weeks, months and years!
